Almost There

I just got off the phone with Mom and Dad and they're itching to be able to discuss our new home. So I'm posting some pictures of where we're moving to.

It really is somewhat of a miracle how it all has worked out. We looked at two homes over one weekend and it took Jill all of 30 minutes to decide which of the two homes she loved. The one we bought is at the end of a cul de sac, has a pool, large kitchen and plenty of space for the kiddos. The yard is much, much smaller than the pasture we have here in Lewisville. It should take me 10 minutes to mow it. The home is right next to a reserve, so we have neighbors to our south and to our back yard and open forest to our north. Because of the economy, we were able to get the home for $25,000 less than what it was taxed on last year and over $40,000 for what it was originally on the market for.

Back in Lewisville, we put our home up on the market on a Monday and had an offer on it two days later. Incredibly the buyer wadded through all the red tape of our relocation company and is closing on it this week.

All the hoops everyone has had to jump through has gone amazingly smoothly. Despite the dozens of variables at play here, things have run like clockwork.

Tomorrow the movers come to pack up this home. Tuesday they load the items. Thursday we close on our new home and Saturday we move into it. Next Sunday will be our first time in our new ward. The kids, will start school on the following Monday. We're all very excited and grateful for how well things have gone.

It Always Happens!!!

This morning, we had some time to kill before having to be somewhere and I asked Erick to please pick a book he wanted me to read to him and Camille. He came back with "I'll Love you Forever". For those of you who are familiar with this book, you know that it is a tear jerker. Not, I don't consider myself an overly emotional female, I don't often cry in movies, but for some reason, this book gets me everytime.

So, I began reading and told myself to just be calm and that it wouldn't happen this time. I thought I was doing pretty good, but then it got to the end when the boy picks up his aged mother and rocks her in the rocking chair and sings her the song she always sang to him "I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, as long as I'm living, my baby you'll be." Of course, the boy changes the last part to "as long as I'm living, my mother you'll be." I lost it and the tears came! I really didn't think they would, but I am telling you, this is quite a book, and it happens everytime!
