Ben the Comedian
As many of you know, Napolean Dynamite is a favorite around our home. As such, I quote (or try to quote) one my favorite lines. After Napolean works on the chicken farm all day long, the farmer says, "can't find my checkbook ... have to pay you in change" or something to that effect. I tend to think that the farmer sounds like a chicken clucking when he says that line. So I often quote the farmer in my best chicken voice. Whenever I do that, Ben and Emma get the biggest kick out of it. They often say it to themselves and then bust up laughing
.
Well, Ben tried the line on his preschool friends. He came home from preschool one day and told Jill, "Mom, when I tell my preschool friends 'can't find my checkbook' they don't laugh!" The poor kid just didn't understand why his friends didn't get it! I got a big kick out of it when Jill told me the story.
Now, the other day, Jill told me that his friends now think it's funny ... so Ben's the hit.
