Ben's Baptism

Finally getting around to posting a couple of pictures from Ben's baptism.  It was a beautiful afternoon and Ben was happy!

Nothing warms the heart of a parent more than seeing their children love each other so much.  Camille and Emma play so well with each other and Camille tries so hard to be Emma's little helper.  And take a look at those two brothers. Erick really does look up to Ben and it shows in this picture.  And Ben really does love his little brother and wants to be a good example for him.
We were so blessed and happy to have Jeff and Sandie and Jan be here for Ben's special day!  Thank you so much Jeff, Sandie and Jan for talking and singing at Ben's baptism!

Ben Turns Eight

Ben had a great birthday yesterday.  THANK YOU Grandma & Grandpa Hobson for the Scout shirt.  THANK YOU Aunt Jan for the scout scarf.  THANK YOU Grandma & Grandpa Putnam for the tie and money!

For Ben's birthday, he had some friends come over and we all went to Alvin and the Chipmunks.  The kids had a blast.  Ben's baptism is next week on the 13th.

The Pinewood Derby

The Pinewood Derby in our three wards was last week.  Emma, Ben, Erick and I worked on the cars all week long.  Emma and Ben did most of the sanding.  Then we painted them.  The night before the derby we took them to the church to put the finishing touches on and to have them weighed.  We had to put weights on both.  We learned a lot of lessons this year, so next year's models should be much better.

The derby was really fun.  They had hot dogs and nachos.  The track was all decked out with sounds and everything.  Emma's and Ben's cars didn't do too well ... until we got some graphite on them.  Once we got some graphite on the wheels, they started cruising into 2nd and 1st place.  But it was too late in the heats to lower the average times.

Personally, I like Emma's the best ... it just looks cool.
